The Raven MEU/1911 Pistol Silver Slide Features
The Raven MEU/1911 Pistol Silver Slide is A Gas Blow back Airsoft Pistol manufactured by NUPROL designed to replicate the appearance and feel of a modern MEU 1911 pistol.The pistol features a heavy duty all Alloy Construction, with a Polymer Nozzle and Magazine Base Plate. The Alloy construction and weight results in a firm and satisfactory recoil action every time the pistol fired. This The Raven MEU/1911 Pistol Silver Slide Airsoft Pistol features an adjustable Hop-Up unit which can be accessed when the Slide is split from the Frame for cleaning, and is designed to add Range and Accuracy to the pistol by imparting Spin on the BB. The Hop-Up unit can be adjusted to accommodate for a wide range of BB weights. The Pistol features multiple safety features, including a Trigger Disconnect safety built into the extended Beaver-tail Grip to prevent the weapon from firing when held improperly, and a Trigger Lock Safety to prevent accidental discharge whilst in holster, however this latter feature can only be activated when the weapon is cocked. The base of the grip features a Lanyard Loop, allowing Lanyards to be used, preventing the loss of a weapon should it fall out of a holster. The pistol comes with a spare Nozzle and Seal kit, for replacing Worn Parts in the pistol, as well as Co2 Upgrade Parts which allows the pistol to function using Co2 Magazines for use in the Winter. History 1911 Pistol
The M1911, also known as the Colt Government or “Government”, is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, recoil-operated pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge.It served as the standard-issue sidearm for the United States Armed Forces from 1911 to 1986. It was widely used in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The pistol’s formal designation as of 1940 was Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911 for the original model of 1911 or Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911A1 for the M1911A1, adopted in 1924. The designation changed to Pistol, Caliber .45, Automatic, M1911A1 in the Vietnam War era.
The U.S. procured around 2.7 million M1911 and M1911A1 pistols in military contracts during its service life. The M1911 was replaced by the 9 mm Beretta M9 pistol as the standard U.S. sidearm in October 1986, but due to its popularity among users, it has not been completely phased out. Modernized derivative variants of the M1911 are still in use by some units of the U.S. Army Special Forces and the U.S. Navy.
Designed by John Browning, the M1911 is the best-known of his designs to use the short recoil principle in its basic design. The pistol was widely copied, and this operating system rose to become the preeminent type of the 20th century and of nearly all modern center fire pistols.
